Welcome to La Chope - France, a charming seafood haven nestled in the heart of Tours at 25 Bis Av. de Grammont, 37000 Tours, France. With a reputation for delivering fresh, mouth-watering dishes, La Chope has become a destination for both locals and travelers alike. Whether you're a seafood aficionado or simply looking for a delightful culinary experience, this restaurant promises to indulge your palate.
Upon entering, you are greeted by a warm ambiance accentuated by friendly waitstaff, eager to guide you through their extensive menu. Patrons like Rachel Zheng rave about the generous portions and affordable prices, citing favorites such as veal liver and homemade foie gras. The emphasis on high-quality ingredients is evident in every dish, making each visit memorable.
For seafood lovers, the seafood platter is a must-try. As Jackie Leung notes, the freshness is unparalleled, and the portion sizes are generous, perfect for sharing. However, it's wise to steer clear of the menu, as some dishes may leave you wanting more. The attention to detail fluctuates, as evidenced by one diner’s lukewarm main dish experience, suggesting consistency in service could be improved.
As for the desserts, the profiterole comes highly recommended, leaving a lasting impression on customers like Ume Chong, who enjoyed every bite. Diners consistently praise the overall food quality, with many echoing sentiments of excellent service and a wide variety of choices, as highlighted by Alman FAN.
Despite a few minor criticisms—such as a distressing sight of a crab in a tank—La Chope maintains a focus on environmental and culinary respect, making it a place where every meal becomes a thoughtful dining experience. If you're visiting Tours, don't miss out on the chance to savor the ocean's offerings at La Chope, where every dish is crafted to perfection.

Friendly waiters and waitresses. Food was delicious, big portions and reasonably priced. Ordered veal liver, cod, homemade foie gras, rum baba, all great. Would come again if I visit Tours in the future. Highly recommend!

Great food and excellent service! The only reason I am giving it 4 stars is because there was a crab laying on its back in distress in the tank the entire time we were dining. A staff member saw the crab, stopped for a moment, and did nothing about it. Not enjoyable to watch an animal suffer while eating dinner. I believe it’s important to respect the animals we consume as food.

The seafood platter was really nice, everything was really fresh and the portion was huge. Highly recommend. However, I do not recommend the menu as the portion was quite small. My main dish was only lukewarm when it arrived. The service was very slow. We waited for quite some time just to pay. They have English menus, which was nice. If you go, I recommend to just get the seafood platters!

Simply the best gastronomical restaurant in Tours. The service is warm, friendly and extremely efficient. The dishes include French classics and modern fusion cuisine. The food is exquisitely prepared and presented. A delightful experience!

Amazing old school French restaurant with great service, delicious food and a cool retro vibe. We ordered 2 price fix dinners and added dessert to share. I had the best fois gras ever followed by the best slow roasted duck ever. Wifey started with beautiful and delicious smoked salmon followed by perfectly cooked and scrumptious steamed sea bass. A very reasonably priced bottle of local white wine paired perfectly with our meals. We were very impressed and highly recommend this local gem!!!

Very good seafood restaurant, they have a la carte and also 2 menu options. There is a separated pages with the fresh choices of the day in addition to the ones in the menu. The 2 menu options are 24.5 or 34.5 but you can also choose only starter+main or main+dessert, so very flexible. I had a menu and a glass of the Graves wine, 34€ (no dessert). Booking in advance is recommended.
